About Us
OneU Maryland is an outreach ministry of Solid Rock Church that seeks to spread the fame of Jesus at the University of Maryland through discipleship in the context of community. We believe the best way for us to introduce people to Jesus is through everyday life. We seek to live life together and build our weekly gatherings around the rhythms of the students on campus. God is doing great things at the University of Maryland and we think that He wants to do even more. This year, we are digging deep into our hearts and asking why we do the things we do so we can live in the freedom of the gospel, love Jesus in a deeper way and therefore love people in a deeper way as well.
Community is a vital part of the identity of OneU. We see community as a necessary calling to all who want to follow God, especially on campus. We see community as the key component in our growth as followers of Jesus and in our advancing His Kingdom through the good news that He offers. OneU Community Groups are our version of small groups. Each week we meet as a large group and then split into our community groups where we get to share life and talk about the Bible. The groups are mixed up with staff, student leaders, and students of all types. All are welcome!
Community Groups
One to One
A huge component of the ministry of OneU is the one-to-one access students have to staff and student leadership. We strive to meet with all of our students one-to-one to help them to grow. We believe that it is in this setting that we can share our hearts and grow closer to Jesus together! We desire that students will be able to dig deep into their own hearts, confront sin that leads to a “Godly repentance without regret” and a deeper freedom in the gospel that will be visible to many on campus searching for that freedom! We hope to show that the gospel can and really does change us to not just be better people, but really to live as the worshipper that God always create us to be.
